question about shih-tzus...

hello everyone, i'm new to this site and right now am on the puppy hunt! i'm trying to research exactly what breed of dog is right for me. i was just wondering if there's anyone out there with some personal experience, or just whose knowledgeable on the breed, that could tell me if the shih-tzu is a dog that likes to be loved and petted and cuddled and taken places with you? or is it a more rambunctious energetic, lots of barking,lots of playing always, kind of breed? thank you so much for taking the time to read this and lend some info~!!

I would say that they are dogs with so much character that they fulfill the best of both worlds! Mine is playful, energetic, hates being left alone, loves cuddles. In fact he regularly falls asleep on me. I love him! :)

Well, I just recently got a male puppy Shih tzu, and I love to take him everywhere with me, and he's fine going places. Sometimes he's fidgety, but that's only because he likes to wait until he gets home to use his puppy pad to use the bathroom. Then sometimes he loves to play and bounce around and is just energetic. Then other times he likes to sleep a lot and cuddle and let you hold him and carry him wherever. He's great nonetheless =).
