What is my pup?

Hi! We just got this newest member of our family. His name is Sherman. His previous owner said he is a Great Dane/Mastiff mix, but we aren't totally sure. Can anyone help?

He looks like he might have a little blue heeler in him, based on his colors.

I don't think he's just great dane or mastiff, because he doesn't look as droopy. What he's mixed with, I dunno :D

he almost looks like a plott to me, but you will probably have to wait until he is older to get a good clue to his origins

Sherman has reached the 12 week old mark, and boy oh boy is he big. He's growing like a bad weed. His feet now cover the entire palm of my hand and he sounds like a horse when he runs through the house. Here is a recent pic of him. Enjoy!

With the newer pics, he DEFINITELY looks to be mostly Great Dane. He looks almost exactly like the picture of the Great Dane I posted earlier :D I'm sure that's not an extremely uncommon color for Danes!

There is a Foundation Stock Service breed that looks very similar to him, its called the Catahoula Leopard Dog, heres a link.

Yes, I think he definitely looks like he has great dane in him, but not sure what else.

I believe your pup is every bit a great dane, maybe with a little something else chucked in for good measure, he is merle marked. not a club standard colour but a pet marking. i have a merle harlequin dane (pure bred) and she looked the same as a puppy and grew to an enormous size. As an australian I can tell you your dog is no Australian cattle dog or blue heeler, ( i have one of them too) good luck with him, he will grow quite large!

yeah I think it does look like a blue heeler ..
