I breed pointers and have always felt that color or marking in a hunter is perhaps the last consideration.
However in the field have been pleased that the markings of my and a number of other pointer dogs have markings on one side and are clear of markings on the other side of their body.
I found it helpfull when the dog is ranging far out and working toward me and then away to note that the markings denote clearly which direction the pointer is interested in.
I recently brought this up at a number of meets and have been laughed down
I'd like to know if any other hunters or breeders have noted markings on the dog in this way ???
Will most appreciate comment both posithive or negative
Best
