Hello everyone!
I was just out playing with Silo, my 8-10 week old Black and Tan Coonhound...I have my lengthy story everywhere..hate to repeat...try to be brief..I got him a little over 1 week ago...neighbors got for kids, kids did not care for him, they let him run loose during the day and if they could catch him they chained him outside under the trees at night...I am amazed he survived the cyotes...must have been his bellaring and crying scared them off...anyway....
I took him to the vet last week for check over and vaccinations...Dr Glass is wonderful, helps me out by cutting costs since I am forever taking in strays...anyway Silo definitely Black and Tan Coonhound, healthy, no worms, but loaded with ear mites...he eats, runs, poops, pees and is definitely healthy acting...however today while I was holding him and soothing him after putting his ear drops in (quite the ordeal because he screams, kicks, fights and in general is just a wiggle worm) I noticed a soft but firm and freely moving lump in his armpit under his L front leg...at first I freaked out...but doesn't seem to bother him at all....there is no sore or anything on the surface...
I had several "fatty and benighn" tumors removed from Australian Shepherd and RR in their old age, this kind of feels like that...I am hoping anyway, but other dogs were over 10 yrs old when these popped up... I am taking Silo to Dr Glass on Wed to have it looked at, please keep me in your prayers and thoughts....we will be positive...thanks and any suggestions or similar stories would greatly ease my mind.....Thanks
Tammy
