A Shock Collar Has Always Worked Good For Me. Take Your Beagle Along With An Experienced Dog Also.

I am sorry but I do not like the use of shock collars, unless you get the timing absolutely right you can end up with a fear aggressive dog. There are far kinder ways to train a dog that do not involve violence. Positive re-inforcement. With patience and consistency there is no reason why you cannot train your dog yourself.
Reward good behaviour using treats and praise. Timing is the key with positive reinforcement dog training. Your dog must be rewarded immediately for responding appropriately to a cue. That is, through a reinforcement (food), your dog will associate particular behaviors with actual rewards. Consistency is also essential. Everyone in the family should use the same cue system and should never reinforce the wrong behavior. For example, if you cue your dog to sit, he should be given a treat the moment his behind hits the ground. If you wait until he stand up again, the moment will be lost and he will think he is getting rewarded for standing.
Most dogs will happily work for treats. In addition to the treat you should also use a word such as Good or yes!
