Most dogs I have "met" always go practically insane when you show them some food?

could be anything, --like part of a sandwich or something. Then they just gobble it up like they're going to die if they dont eat it.

Also, when dogs are fed most (MOST NOT ALL) of them eat their food like they are totally starving, like dying of hunger or something.

So heres my question: Why is it that most (MOST NOT ALL)people feed their dogs "dinner" only once a day?

If they are that starved, shouldnt they be fed like a helluvalot more???? like have a foodbowl thats always full, and also vary their diet with different stuff?

I mean how would you like to be fed 1 bowl of mush once a day , for the rest of your life (with maybe a candy bar once in a while)??

We have dog food out at all times, so when they get hungry they eat. Most dogs go nuts over people food because it tastes so much better.

i keep the dogs bowl full all the time so they eat whenevr they want...even after eating their food and stopping coz theyre full, if they see me go into the kitchen,they run after me and if i grab something to eat,they stand in front of me with their sad/have pity on me eyes...i know theyre liars...they just wanna eat everything even if theres no place in their stomachs...

Dogs also need a proper diet just like humans. So, you should give them a good supplement of foods plus let them get good exercise such as a walk in the park, fetching etc. Askng some info from a professional would also be a better idea.

People should only have three meals a day, our average weight is 150. the average dog weighs 45. they dont need as much as we do to survive. having free feeding for a dog is in general not a good idea. some large breeds can develop GVD and be dead within 30 minutes from having more than one feeding. why do they eat so damn quick? well, dont you enjoy working for something? dogs do,(which is why they should be walked before every meal).

Dogs are hunters. Even though they're domesticated now, they are still wired to think that they have to go and "find" food, even if it takes days. Luckily, we as humans feed them every day. i feed mine twice a day. not only does feeding twice a day help him from getting overweight, but having him know that i am giving him the food, thus "allowing" him to eat and letting him know that i can just as easily take it away, reinforces my status as alpha. it may sound silly to some, but that's how i do it. and all dogs are pros at acting like they haven't been fed in forever. they know how to play the game. begging is the new "hunting", they go after those of us they deem weak enough to surrender and give them food.

Obviously you've seen my dogs. They jump around, and go crazy when they see food because they're little piggies! (hehe... kidding)
they like treats (dont you get a little bit excited when you see a hersheys bar in a loved one's hand as they're about to give it to you?) and food, and they survive on food, so of course they get happy. =]
