Stubborn Frenchie?

My one year old male frenchie is very stubborn and hard to train, is that normal? He knows sit, paw, and sit pretty. He will not cooperate with down, He also sucks on a leash, its like he's walking me and thats embarrasing that i cant control my cog:(.

u can take ur dog to a trainer in order to learn basic walkin skills...if u dt want a trainer's help then i suggest,next time u take ur dog out,shorten the leach so that theres not enough room to roam freely and eveytime it pushes you to the front or in whatever direction,push it back and insist on not giving it enough room to disobey u....with time all will b fine, as for the down command...i suffered with one of my dogs,it made me cry on several occasions coz he would just not listen,i got a trainer to help me out...he said that u should never allow ur dog to win,u keep doing whatever u r doing until u succeed,u never end a session with the dog having the upper hand...did that for a few frustrating weeks and all became fine when he knew who was boss
