We have a chocolate lab/pit bull mix (we think). She's approx. 8 months old. She was found on the side of the highway as a puppy with her sisters. She had parvo and was treated. We adopted her a few months ago. We managed to housebreak her, though it took a while. She's very smart and loves my wife and I. Problem is she is scared of everyone (besides us) and everything. When walking her tail is usually tucked between her legs. She growls and barks at everybody, though she doesn't try to bite them. She shakes and pees herself if anybody gets near. She was not socialized properly with other dogs (we have two others who she gets along with) and tends to act crazy around them. I saw Cesar Millan using a leash in a way that held a dog's tail up to boost the its confidence, but I don't remember how he did it. Does anybody have any suggestions for calming her mind and building her self-esteem?
