spot in the house? We clean the area good and once in a while bring him outside but he still has to learn...we even put him in the cage.

A Cage?!!!
take ur dog out for walks...whenevr he goes in the same spot, point his nose towards it and then isolate him for half an hour(outside or wherever u want him to go) no matter what he does,dt give him any attention while isolated

CAGE?????........ We don't use cages, kennels maybe !! Dogs have an enourmous sense of smell, and will go back to the same spot if they need to go. Use vinegar, or some product on the market to help kill the smell of urine and feces. And take your dog outside regularly, and for walks. I find that if the dog has proper excercise, like walking, you can more easily get it on a schedule of using the bathroom at the same time every day. Feed the dog, take it outside, wait, and you will have to wait, if it goes, then praise it enormously !! Take it out about evry 30 min to an hour, depending on the age of the dog. Good Luck

firstly i would never use a cage this will confuse the dog,if the dog is going back to the same spot all the time give the floor a good wash with biological soap powder the enymes in this will kill of the smell, when your dog goes outside praise he or she this will encourage the dog and everytime he or she does it outside again and your present prasie the dog each and every time he or she will soon learn that doing there buisness outside is rather fun:)
