Ignoring that last post, I ran into one at Petsmart a while back and it turns out she adopted her from an Ibizan rescue in Canada. They're not a very popular breed, so I belive there is a waiting list to get one through the rescue. It doesn't look like there are any breeder referrals on this site right now. If you are looking to buy one from a breeder, you'll probably want to start by contacting the Ibizan Hound Club of the United States. http://www.ihcus.org/ They'll be able to refer you to a breeder who is breeding dogs to better the breed rather than make money and you'll be much more likely to find a dog with a good temperament and healthy hips, knees, elbows, eyes, etc. Good luck!

I currently own and show Ibizan Hounds and have my very first litter planned soon. I have never heard them described as constipated Deer, more like beautiful dogs of ROYAL ancestry who have been used in the development of many other breeds. allinthehands, who knows. Maybe you look like a constipated deer. No offense but making fun of other people's dog isn't very nice. If you had a Greyhound, and someone said, "Oh they look like hideous pigs" then you wouldn't very well appreciate that, now would ya.

Ibizan Hounds are very fascinating dogs and have been here longer then most breeds. The year of their origin was 3000 BC, their first use was for hunting rabbits, and the country they were developed in is Spain. In my opinion they are very sophisticated looking dogs along with a wonderous temperament. They have long straight legs, a thin tail set, erect ears, and deep flat rib cages. I also think their colors are gorgeous. The beautiful rusted red with white markings and cream coats are BEAUTIFUL. Also their known for being alert dogs with adaptable personalities. They don't look at all like constipated deer, infact their facial settings are not even close to a deers. I like the Ibizan Hounds with the red noses, but in all I enjoy their body structure. Extremely thin yet exquisitely muscular.

They are very beautiful dogs that I can not even begin to describe...they are breath taking.

From what I understand they are very clean dogs. As well as gentle and relaxed.
