Get an electric fence, and if your chickens get into it...fried chicken!
Sorry...couldn't help myself. If you live in the country, just set a trap for the dog. Or call the county you live in and see if they will, and haul it off.
All else fails find out who the dog belongs to and threaten to sue 'em for the cost of the chickens you've lost. Or that you'll get rid of the dog yourself.

You can try those herding breeds...border collie, pyrenees...etc. These dogs can be trained to protect their flock while warding off predators...even another dog. I would suggest one of those breeds because they are powerful yet smart enough to know when to use their power and on whom. Hope this helps!

A BB gun will work alot better than a guard dog. Just make sure it shoots under 200fps (feet per second) so it will not break the skin. It usually only takes once and the dog never comes back. Some may say this is cruel, but a loose dog killing things is a lot worse than a quick sting. I used to play with these as a kid and NEVER had more than a tiny welt, so they are safe enough for this purpose.

You will have to make sure that the dog that you get won't kill the chickens as well! Put the chickens in a pen that the dog can not get in!
