My dog was house-trained..now its like i didn't even teach her anything..What

happened? Me and my mother house-trained my cocker spaniel about 4 years ago when we got her. She was taught to hold her wastes until we get home (not that long) and we let her out every so often and she roams around then comes back in. But for the past year, she has been VERY malicious with going in the house. We've tried every method we could think of. We tried the water bottle, spankings, positive reinforcement, but nothing seems to be working. We dont feed her soft food. What can we do to sort of re-train her?

get her a litter box and train her to use it. That way she has somewhere to go when you are gone.

Make sure you keep her on a schedule. As soon as she wakes up, right after you feed her, right after you play with her/get her moving, etc. Walk her for a while to get her to go at those times, and whenever it looks like she might be about to go.

Another idea; how old is she? If she is 8 or so, she may be getting incontinent. Or maybe she has a medical condition where she has no control over when she goes. Just something to think about.

or u can install one of those "dog doors" so she is able to go outside when u r not home to releive herself on her own
