I have a Chocolate Lab puppy that I just got the other day and his stomach is huge. It inflates like a balloon after he eats...it gets to be quite large. Is this normal? What is the problem?

There can 2 things going on. ! your pup has worms and need to go to the vets. 2. Your over feeding the pup.
Don't know how much your feeding at each feeding but the normal amount is 1 cup 3 times a day.
Most pups get that round belly right after they eat anyway. No need to worry just now. You'll need to get the pup into the vet for a check up.

lol, thats cute..but yes its normal..you might want to feed him a little bit less at each meal, but still the same amount each day..cuz chocolate labs tend to get overweight if you let them eat free hand..i've seen tons of overweight chocolate labs..so less food 3 times a day or 2 times a day..but don't let him over eat and don't feed him people food..it will start into a bad habit..some dogs its not a big deal but for some reason chocolate labs like food a bit too much! lol..good luck and congrats on the new family member
your mom.

yeah that's totally normal.

puppies eat like crazy and you can see all of it well that's what the inflation is.

It is normal for puppies' bellies to swell some after they eat. A big problem with labs is bloat. Make sure that your puppy doesn't eat too quickly, gulping down his food. I would also feed less and not let him free feed. It could be worms, and I would check that, but since it swells after he eats I guess it is something else. Definitely give your vet a call. He knows what's best. Good luck! :)

one of my dogs overeats all the time ( she eats the other dogs' food as well as her own) she gets a huge belly that makes her head looks too small for her body, then lies with her back to the floor with all 4 feet in the air and stays that way until she goes to the bathroom...u can see happiness in her eyes when she does that...
so dt worry if ure overfeeding her but if ure not then take her to the vets
