I was truly considering getting my first purebreed dog of my own. Then I looked at petfinder. How many of you have adopted from your local shelter? There are so many animals that will be euthanized because their people abandoned them. I think a $70 adoption fee to save a baby's life is good. So much for a pedigree, huh?

If you are looking for a purebreed, first check the rescue shelters. You can go on line, type in the breed you are looking for and most breeds have a specific rescue program. Here is an example http://www.nasrn.com/ I got my Anatolian at a rescue shelter, the previous owner couldn't handle the dog.
