abuse?

hi.

my neighbor has a yorkshire terrier and 3 pugs. she keeps them outside and i don't think i've ever seen her let them in the house. they're always dirty and look really lonely and sad. i don't even understand why she has a dog let alone 4 dogs if she doesnt even spend any time with them. is it abuse to leave 4 little dogs like that outside all the time? it seems like it is. i think she's also forgotten to feed them a few times, and they start crying. it's really sad.

hey brandiii, that's really awful that you're in such a position and that your neighbor is that irresponsible. its not abuse, but that's definitely neglect. those dogs are small and are not meant to live outside, they can't handle cold very well. you should talk to your neighbor about your concern and as hard as it might be, warn her that if nothing changes you will call animal services because no dog deserves to live like that. i hope you can get through this and that your neighbor wises up to the proper way to treat animals. good luck and its really amazing that you are so concerned that is a serious issue that not many people would realize needs to be fixed.

i totally agree with the above comments. cases like that are the reason animal services exists.

as bad as it may sound, hopefully your neighbor is mentally ill in some way because to treat an animal, or 4 animals, like that would be terrible if it was a sane decision to do so. either way, the authorities need to be informed because they can help the animals.
