A question poped in my head which made me wonder: How do you pick your new dog from the shelter/where ever? What are the temperment, size, anything else that would suit and require you on taking this lovely dog/puppy home with you today. What do you look for in a dog? Personally? Looks? What makes a good dog in your books to make you pick this dog then the others.
What is it about them?!?! ;) :D

I have 4 dogs in my house right now. The 15 year old is a Shephard/Akita mix. Another person got her for her kids and then decided she could not handle it. My daughter brought her home. I have a 14 year old Chow chow mix. I was working in a group home and one of the residents found him lost on the street. He was just a puppy. We discovered that the local shelter would put him to sleep, so we ended up keeping him. (Told the kids they could not name him because we were not keeping him, so his name is Puppy to this day). Then my brother had a beagle mix when he had to move, so I agreed to care for her. She's 7, and I don't think my brother is taking her back.
Now, the reason I found this site is because this little bit of fluff, from somewhere in the neighborhood, has decided it likes our house better than wherever it belongs. He's come to visit off and on for over a year now, and this time does not seem inclined to go back home. We're still trying to figure out what he is. The debates range between poodle and terrier.

ive been through a large number of breeds over the years...first it was a collie but i was too young so it was my parents' choice then i fell in love with huskies and got one...very stubborn, playful and a bit of a hassle since training them is extremely difficult...then i got 2 dalmatians as a present,i hated them (very difficult characer) then since all my life i was taken by the rottweilers looks and how strong they are i got one...amazing dog,strong,protective,sweet...had to let him go becoz due to his posessive character,he started biting any1 who came near me...got 2 pple into hospital for stitches so he became too dangerous for those around me...now ive got the greatest breed ever chow chows, theyve got the looks, the character,everything...theyre the entire package...theyre quite, lazy cuddly sweet strong protective and theyve got the biggest heart....with them,it was looks and character and the fact that they fit in perfectly in my life
