Hello, I am just curious on how much I should be feeding my pup. I have a Corgi and she is about 12 weeks old now.. Is 1 cup in the morning, and one cup at night enough for now? I know the amount will go up as she grows up, but I just want to make sure that she doesn't get over weight or under weight.

there is no need to control/portion a puppies food intake. Allow them to eat as much as they want. I have successfully used this practice for the entirety of a dog's life(a very energetic german shepard/golden retriever mix) provided that the dog is exercised well. However, as skeletal growth is mostly complete bnetweeen 1-1.5 years you will then need to assess your individual dogs needs. If your schedule does not permit the required exercise needed to maintain a free food system you will need to look at your alternatives. The choice I would recommend is to provide your dog the exercise needed(of course this varies greatly depending on the breed, my GSD/GR required about 1-1.5 hours a day to tire), but the backup can certainly be meal portioning. I found swimming to be the most efficient exercise.

Best of luck with your corgi. They are a great breed.
