JRT meets Beauceron

We have a 10 yr old Jack Russell and are getting an 8 wk old Beauceron. Is this gonna work?

I don't know much about Jack Russels, so the rest of this will pretty much be a guess:

I think that your Jack Russel might be a bit jealous of the new Beauceron at first. Just be sure that you don't give the Beauceron too much attention, and ignore your terrier.

This is totally a random guess, but is the case with most dogs, so I don't know if its true or not. If it isn't, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply. It's basic good advise. We're getting our Beauceron puppy on Monday so I'll let you know. My worry is that our Jack, Twiggy is soooo good with people and everybody is her best friend but she can't tolerate the sight of another dog eating! Can you imagine our Beauceron, Tilly trying to herd our Twiggy!? This is going to be interesting. I'm wondering, should they meet outside first on neutral grounds and then bring them both inside or no. Live and learn!
