I have a neigheber with a pyrenese that just won't listen and volunteered to help. My expeirence is 2 classes of obeideince, one rally O, and I've lost count how many agilty level one and begginers classes. (my dog was a rough collie, extremly intelligant, didn't have to train him most of the time he just watched the other dogs then did it, reason why I did so many begginners classes with him was cause he was slow, lazy, took him a goood 2 minutes to get his rump firmly on the ground lol)
Its been almost 2 years since I've seriously worked a dog and usually fairly easy dogs that were eager to learn, only a little work with a hound dog that was stubborn. This pyrenese I'm told is good in the house, not to great on a leash and if wants to gho, will leave, jumps their fence, and when they try to catch him he runs. Thats how I met them, he was heading towards the highway and I was on my bike, being that he was a bit skittish I herded him back towards home. When we got there a kid came out to catch him and the dog promtly ran then playfully bounced around out of his reach then ran away.
SO? ANy and all advice accepted, I'm researching pryenese and came apon this site and decided to see if any one has a pyrenese and some advice?Sor far I've learned they are stubborn, independant(very), intelligant, loyal, and affectionet.
I'm thinking to start basic clicker training, and work on its name, see how it responds to it, quiz the owners how they normally talk to the dog.
They said they exercise him quite a bit, somtimes with a bike, gets walks.
I'd be more through on this post but I'm gonna be late for work!!Hopw to get some advice soon, thankyou very much if you do, ttyl bye.:D
