A warm South African Hello to all dogs and their humans. I have a wonderful, loving and adoring Rhodesian Ridgeback and would like to chat to fellow ridgeback owners about my friend's issues. He's great to have around, but really scared of people. I think he was abused before we adopted him. With lots of love and patience,my family and I have managed to socialize him to some extent but he is still fearful around strangers. This of course makes him a gentle and meek giant to intruders. (I hope he never reads this) How do I train him to be a little more brave and less challenged as a security feature on our yard, bearing in mind that I love him regardless...

I have some suggestions that may be helpful or at least worth a shot to help your darling dog, I would love to own one of that breed in my life time, arn't they great, I am a fellow all dog lover, no matter breed lol.

Prob be good for me to know what you already tired aka the step that you took.

Well one thing you have to build the dogs confienced up thus helping him be more brave
and being a better dog that is sure of himself and his dog world. I'll post more soon about it.
