:confused:I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY DOGS ARE NOT USED MORE TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC. WHAT I MEAN IS FOR EXAMPLE WHEN A LIQUOR STORE IS ROBBED REPEATEDLY OR A SITUATION LIKE COLUMINE HIGH SCHOOL HAPPENS, A TRAINED DOG COULD BE USED TO PREVENT SUCH CRIMINAL AND TRAGIC EVENTS. I KNOW THERE WOULD BE DETAILS TO
WORK OUT, BUT ISN'T THE INCONVENIENCE WORTH HUMAN LIFE.

FIRST OFF, ALL CAPS IS NOT A GOOD WAY TO TYPE. Secondly, I have no clue what a German Shepherd could have done at Columbine. To have a dog posted at every high school, every liquor store, every gas station, would be incredibly expensive and dangerous in itself. I'd guess that very few of the people working that these establishments would have the ability to handle a dog focused and driven enough to be used properly as an attack dog. If you are just going to post whatever guard dog makes noise and attacks when threatened, you're going to have as many unneeded injuries caused by the dog as by the people robbing the store.

First Off, My Hands Tremble So I Use All Caps On The Computer.
Besides, I'm Wondering What Business Of Your's It Is How I Type.
I Trust The Other Members Are Nicer Than You.

It's a lot harder to read when you type in all caps. All caps is also the generally accepted expression for screaming, so it's usually taken as rude by the people reading it. I'm sure there are nicer members than me, but I don't believe any of them enjoy trying to read when you write in all caps. It is simply ettiquitte. If you weren't aware of that, I'm sorry for being short with you.

:confused:I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY DOGS ARE NOT USED MORE TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC.
The primary reason is cost. A dog trained to the level where they could prevent a robbery or be sent against a gunman is an extremely expensive dog... and it usually comes with a human. There are some excellent YouTube videos that give you an idea of the training that is involved. After all, you don't want the dog to do more damage than good. I will try to find the videos.

fuzzdomestic, I agree with you. Caps lock is very annoying when others are trying to read. And now getting back to the topic...
One of the reasons is safety. Like fuzzdomestic said, a dog, even trained well, could become frightened by unusual sights or sounds, and become aggresive, and attack an innocent person. Guard dogs are sometimes confused with real threats, and distracted a lot.
Another reason is, like JessMaster said, cost is a very big issue. Finding a well capable, trained dog is very expensive.
Good question, though, nitasd
