The San Francisco SPCA is probably the finest SPCA branch in the world. You may have read about it... no dog is executed etc., organizes dog walks matching kids with dogs that need exercise, and has a huge program of bringing pets to senior citizens. At least that's what they were doing when I used to live in San Francisco several years ago.

Now they've had someone steal one of their dogs: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/03/19/BAGFROOAHM4.DTL
and are offering a $1,000 reward for its return.

Yes, I agree with you, JessMaster. The San Francisco SPCA is a great branch. I have been there, and it is the finest one I've been to (I've been to quite a lot) Well, that was a few years ago....

A very sad story. I hope they can find the dog.

Best Wishes,
Jakey
