Hi, I'm a new dog owner, of sorts. My girlfriend, who had two little dogs already, went ahead and found a small puppy in a patch of bushes. In a downtown metropolitan area.
Needless to say, she took it on herself to assume that someone else decided they didn't want her, and brought the girl home (after taking her to a vet/animal rescue place to make sure she was all right). Although initially opposed to the idea of a third dog in the house, I've become quite taken with her.
The question we have is--what exactly is she? Exhaustive research has led us to conclude that she's mostly a Brussel's Griffon:

Everything fits, from her shape and features, down to her subtle personality quirks (the endearing and infuriating alike). Except for her coloration. In all my research, I've yet to find that kind of marbled coloration in other Griffons. Does anyone know if this is something indicative of the breed, or if they have any ideas what she might be mixed with?
It's hardly an issue. She's a wonderful dog no matter what her lineage, but I'd be lying if I pretended that I wasn't extremely curious (about as curious as I am as to why someone would leave a little puppy--according to the vet, barely old enough to be on solid food--in the bushes by an office building...).
