Dog Beaches/Parks

hey everyone, this wasn't in the news, but i've been hearing alot of rumors about a state-wide crackdown and even close-down of alot of dog parks and dog beaches. to the point where your dog can't even be on-leash in some places. anybody know about this? if so, is there anyway to stop it? its not fair for dogs to be unable to go on the beach, there are so many in california, why not give the dogs a few?

Someone should send mary ann maniace (from the article) border collie pup and show her how horrible it is to not give animals a place to run. that's like taking pastures away from horses.
