Male or Female dog?

I have female pointer and I am looking to adopt another dog. I was wondering what type of dog and if a male or female dog would be more compatible with the pointer I have now. The pointer is very spoiled and skiddish so I am nervous about getting a new dog. i heard that males and females get along better so I thought getting a male dog would be a better option. But then I realized my dog does not really like human males so I don't know if a male dog would actually work out. I also heard though that two female dogs can get into a lot of fights. Anyone with knowledge or experience in this area I would really appreciate your help! Thank you!

I suggest male dog same breed...probably they can get along better because they have same breed and also probably some of their behaviors are common...

If you want one, the sex shouldn't matter actually. What only needs to be done is properly socialization and training your dog. If your dog is nurtured right, it could behave well.

Totally agree with you, having 2 females in the same household (especially if one is also a little bit nervous ) In my opinion could be asking for trouble.
I have witnessed 2 bitches fighting & it is very frightening.
I am a registered breeder, & I always ask potential puppy buyers if they already have dogs, & what sex they have before placing a puppy with that family.
I don't really think you can compare your dogs dislike of human males to that of a dog male.
Just make sure both of them are neutered, & you shouldn't have any problems.
I think getting the same breed again is a good idea, but your bitch should be able to get along with a male from any breed really, if you get yourself a puppy.
