I have a shar-pei named Max that is 2 years old. He is a great dog that is very well house trained, neutered, does tricks, all up to date on shots, has papers, doesnt get on furniture. I can't keep him anymore do to where I live. If anyone is interested please pm or shoot me an email at hndrown23@yahoo.com and I can send pics of him. He is very healthy and comes with bed, toys, bowls, and a leash. Loves to be outside. I hate to get rid of him.

Look,
The dog is 2yrs old!!
It is not possible to change its real owner.
You can transfer it to someone else but i dont think it will leave there as much comfortably as it is living with you.

So, forget about giving it to someone..

That was a rude reply. I just adopted a 4 year old female Shar-Pei. She is wonderful and very happy with our family. She came from a lady who got her from a rescue. She could not keep her due to the fact her French Bulldog was mean to her. So I'd say dogs can be rehomed. People get pets from shelters all the time. Those pets usually end up being very good pets. Pets are thankful to get good homes. They get over their issues. Dogs live in the moment. Good luck ladr6! I would have taken him, but I already got one. You'll find a home for him. I paid $150 for mine w/o papers and she's older. Someone will be very lucky to have such a great dog!

ladr6-
sorry you have to give up your wonderful dog. I am sure there is someone out there who will be happy to take him in. :) FYI though, I tried that link out of curiosity, and it doesn't work. It says I need to be logged in to see the page.

ashishbarad-
where do you get your facts from? If that is what you think, then you are probably in the wrong place. Several members on this board have rescued adult dogs who have gone on to lead very happy lives in their new homes.

ashishbarad... i got my two year old adult pom from the animal shelter and from the moment we brought him home he has been incredibly happy and taken to us. there is no reason an adult dog cannot be rehomed.

Besides that, I am rehoming my 4 y/o Pei as well. I have not had her long, but I have a wonderful oppertunity to get my Bulldog I have always wanted. My Shar-Pei is a wonderful dog and may already have a new home.

ashish, no polite way to put this you are wrong..try telling that to the guy that took a wrong step toward my grandson and myself while my present dog (Anatolian rescued from a shelter @4yrs, minds better than my grown kids and is just as much a part of the family), was around. I have had other "adoptees" as well and you could not tell them from ones I have raised from a pup.
I would not hesitate to say that the majority of the other members here would agree with me.

you tell them!!!! LOL! Told ya Ashish....many people rehome older dogs. Sometimes the older ones like the 2 Shar -Pei's on this forum will make woderful pets to someone else. His knows tricks and is a great dog as well as mine. The only reason I am rehoming mine is due to the fact I can not have 2 dogs. Someone will be lucky to have such great dogs. Already trained, housebroken, good with kids, don't chew anything, can be let off lead and not run off, etc. Who would not want a dog that good?

Thousands of dogs are adopted each year. They all came from other families. Although it can be difficult at first they will adapt to the new family just fine. Also, keep in mind that young puppies are also taken away from their litter and mother and also do fine!
