I'm in GA and I know of a lot of people who have husky's and they're perfectly fine, you just have to be sure to give them lots of water to help cool them off.

They should not be in a place that hot and if they are they will have to spend a lot of time in an air conditioned space. They are sledding dogs adapted to cold environments, although they can become tolerant to warm weather. A Siberian Husky should NEVER be shaved, it ruins their coat and can give them a sunburn, not to mention their coat not only keeps them warm in the winter, but it also helps them be cooler in summer. talk to an experienced breeder before deciding on this type of dog.

Hi, I come from Australia where we have extremely hot summers, & I know quite a few people that own a Husky. However most of these owners keep them inside their airconditioned homes on the really hot days & they always ensure that they have fresh cool water at all times(It's also a good Idea to Put ice blocks in their water ), & Maybe freeze a chicken wing & give it to them as a snack to cool down.
I agree with Siberianhusky 101 never ever shave them, it will ruin their coat & they need this coat to protect their skin aswell as providing insulation for their body temperature.
Another thing to take into consideration is the amount of grooming you are prepared to give your sibe. Realistically this breed needs to groomed every day & they are huge shedders, so be prepared to have lots of hair around your home (A good Vacumn cleaner is essential ) My friend groomed her Husky today & she got so much hair from him, that she probably could have made a pillow out of it (LOL) & this is just in a half an hour grooming session.
Well I hope this information helped, they are a beautiful breed, but obviously not for everyone, especially in a warm climate. Have a good think before committing to one & make sure you can provide it with everything it needs before making a descision.

Goodluck, & I hope you find the perfect dog for you, whether it is a Husky or another breed.

they could, but it would not be ideal for them. Would there be a cool place for it to go, such as a house with air conditioning? Are you asking this question because you are thinking of getting a dog, or because you already have one?
