shih tzu-pup- snuffing

hi my new pup kinda snorts or snuffs . his nose is very small...he doesn't sound like he has a cold otherwise but the nioses. is this a common noise for dods with pushed in noses.. i want to make sure he is healthy before i pay alot of money for him... i just had to put down a dog due to seizures so i can't handle another sick pup...thanks for any info....laura:

Hi i'am new to all of this, but I have a shih tzu and he is sucking on all kinds of things we just got him a new bed its lamb and he is sucking on it also sucks on this stuffed toys i dont know if this is "normal" please let me know and if there is something i need to do i'am very worried about this thanks

how old was the puppy when you got him? i've heard of puppies doing this when they have been taken from their mother too young.

as for the first post, its not uncommon for small breeds like shit tzus to be snuffling, but a quick vet check never hurts.

I have one too, she is always doing that. It is normal for this breed. No worries. There is a sergery you can have done on there nose.

The best way is to consult with your veterinary doctor & do as prescribed.
Take him with you for morning walk for at least 1 mile.
