Just wanted to say hi, I'm new to this site and would like to share info with those who have a golden or any other dogs that are their best friends. I have a year old handsome golden named Hunter. had him from 10 weeks old and I gotta say I don't know if it's the breed or just him and I have had other breeds, but he is a gift just two weeks to house train and crate train. Now I don't even use a crate he can be left alone in the house and has been able to be left alone at around 2 months. He is in his own class smart and you can see a soul in his eyes, an old soul. Lost my last dog, I had to put my border collie down and was the hardest thisng I have ever done. Never thought I would get a new dog little alone a 10 week pup.
Through other postings I have told what I feed my main lad, kibble with food I make and add to his kibble. Kibble on it's own no matter what is not good enough. Like to share tips with other golden owners. I am looking at maybe showing Hunter or getting him in competitions just not sure how to do it. Great swimmer need to work on some commands no fault to him only me. Trying to find the best way to train him to pose for showing any one have ideas how to do this? I would also like to maybe enter him in water retrieving. Any help or to share tips by all means type up.
