hello everyone!

i need some help in getting our new french bulldog pepper to not run away when off her leash. as soon as you take the leash off she bolts. We have had her for two weeks now and she was mistreated by her former owners. I did not punish her when she came back but i did put her in her crate. I want her to be able to run free when the time is right and come when she is called but she does not listen any advice would be great thanks.

some dogs will just always need to be on leash, but you can always buy the 50ft training leads to help.

Use the long leash to teach her a reliable recall, start in a fenced area so that she can not bolt and run away completely.

Another command you can teach her is "wait" or "stop" so that she must wait for you to catch up.

Do not just walk her on a long lead, because if she is running around bothering other dogs you will not be appreciated in your neighborhood or local park.
