Maybe an internet treasure hunt. give a list of moderately difficult questions and have people provide one or two sentence answers. (and the website they found it on). this will give everyone a lot of new information that they might not have known and sources to find even more info at. A good owner is one that never stops learning.

themed phot contests ... another forum im on does them and theyre great..
kinda works like this.

moderator chooses first them (i.e -- bathtime or whatever) then members post one pic of their pet to match the theme and a poll is opened so all members can vote for their fave pic.
the prize is that the winner chooses the next theme.. they do it weekly but on another site they do it monthly..

i love taking part with it on the cavalier forum and they have a big hit with it..
