Hi, I would like to introduce myself. I am the proud owner of a 5 year old Golden Retriever (Nelson) and a 1 year old Bernese Mountain dog (Jersey)
My question is about Jersey, today we took him to the vet to get him neutered but when they did the pre-op blood tests they said he had very high liver enzymes (ALT) they don't think it is liver disease because he is a very healthy active boy, but something is making his liver work overtime. They put him on antibiotics for 2 weeks and then if the blood work comes back normal they will proceed with the operation. Is this something that is common? Should I worry? I have never had anything like this with Nelson. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation. All the advice you have would be great. Thanks in advance,
